See you in Memphis!
My name is Vicki Pollan RN/BSN/CGRN and I am very honored and excited to be the President for TSGNA Region 50 for 2018! I have worked for Gastro One in Germantown, TN for 16 years and I am the Clinical Services Supervisor and Infection Preventionist here. I have been in GI for over 20 years and I stumbled into GI at St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis when asked to “help out” in the GI Lab when I didn’t have Special Procedure cases in Radiology. I’m sure many of you can relate to how you ended up in GI. There have been many changes in GI over the years and it will continue to change and evolve. SGNA is very important to GI Nurses and Associates because it provides a “voice” for its members in the changing field of GI on a state and national level. SGNA provides educational opportunities for members; as well as non-members, and invaluable networking opportunities with other GI nurses and associates from all over the country. I have enjoyed my association with and membership in SGNA and have taken advantage of the scholarships, education and networking it offers. My goal for our region this year is to grow our membership by promoting its value and encouraging involvement in some way by all of our members. This can be as simple as bringing a friend to a meeting or as lofty as being the next President for the region! We are hard at work planning the TSGNA conference for 2018, which will be in Memphis at the beautiful Peabody Hotel on October 12-14, 2018. Mark your calendar – You won’t want to miss this chance for a wonderful educational experience plus an opportunity to explore this beautiful part of downtown Memphis.
