Membership in SGNA demonstrates your passion and support for the gastroenterology and endoscopy specialty, as well as supporting the initiatives of the Society. Without you, we would not be the thriving community of over 8,000 nurses and associates we are today. There are exciting things happening in our practice and Society in the months and years ahead that your membership is directly supporting.
Hi. My name is Sherri Butler and I am the Lead Endoscopy Center Manager for Gastro One. I am also the Membership Chairperson for TSGNA. I have been a member of SGNA/TSGNA since 2009. By being a member of TSGNA I have been able to network with RNs, LPNs, and Associates from Tennessee and around the country sharing best practices and overcoming challenges for our GI practice. I started out as the Education Chair, and in 2015 became TSGNA President. SGNA enabled me to grow in knowledge, become more involved in my specialty field and challenged me to become a CGRN. I earned a scholarship for the CGRN exam due to my involvement with TSGNA. I have raised the level of training with our Endoscopy Tech Associates by promoting certification for them as well. I have travelled to Leadership Meetings and other national SGNA events to broaden my base of knowledge, all with the support and encouragement of TSGNA. The national SGNA website has also been a great resource for the latest news, practice updates, and guidelines. I have most recently joined an e-SIG for Management and look forward those networking and friendship opportunities.
